PALEO - Do we really need to be a caveman?!

PALEO - Do we really need to be a caveman?!

I don't believe in evolution....

I believe we were all wonderfully created for a purpose and therefore to follow a caveman diet is a bit ludicrous.

Who would want to have a 30 year lifespan, mostly die during childbirth or exposure to extreme temperatures?

So now that we realise we don't want to be a practicing caveman or woman, why eat Paleo?

Paleo is short for Paleolithic Man or the laymans term Paleo.

The theory behind this diet that has quickly gone from fad craze to here to stay is that our bodies haven't evolved to be able to ingest food grown through agriculture and we are better at hunting and gathering.

Now since I believe in creation I have a completely different theory which many experts in this field also agree with.

Our food chain has become so corrupted along the way with mono farming, chemicals, sprays, GM and then the numbers and preservatives used in the food manufacturing industry.

We have ingested way too many numbers, colours and even too many grains used as thickeners and additives.

Our bodies have been bombarded over the years and generations and unfortunately we are now seeing a rise in food intolerances and allergies.

Many people do have symptoms and are symptomatic but often have no idea what foods are causing the problem or where to start.

I would start with the inflammatory foods.

These foods are known inflammatory foods, most likely to cause inflammation and eventually ill health or disease.

  1. Gluten
  2. Grains
  3. Dairy
  4. Legumes
  5. Soy
  6. Corn
  7. Refined Sugars
  8. Additives, Preservatives & Numbers

Many people notice a marked difference once they start cutting out these foods, not just in their general health or reduced symptoms but also losing weight, mental clarity and energy.

Many of you might be looking at this list and crying why should I not eat these foods or what is left to eat?

You don't have to...you can keep eating what you're eating but if you really want to see change in your health and overall vitality start with this list.

Rather than replace these foods with alternatives look at what you can eat and make small changes daily.

If starting with the whole list is too overwhelming, look at one food group at time.

If you notice change, that will give you the encouragement and momentum to keep going.

If you're like me and suffer from an auto-immune disease then you have more of an incentive to make this way of life work.

I really encourage you to make a start, don't beat yourself up when you do cave in and have that piece of cake at the next family celebration.

Recognise that you are human and not a robot or machine.

Know that tomorrow is a brand new day with new beginnings, renewed hope and untold blessings.

Just start!
