At Maree Wilkinson we believe in a holistic approach to your health.  We believe that most illnesses and diseases can be managed with food and diet.  You just need to know where to start.

It can be a confusing and emotional journey.  There are so many mixed messages in the media and amongst various medical and even natural professionals.  However there are many encouraging and uplifting stories to be found, you just need to know who to listen to and where to find them.

Maree Wilkinson was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease in late 2012 and began a real health journey.  She was already learning more and more about truth in the food manufacturing industry, however this health diagnosis sent her on a journey of not just self discovery but for truth in health.

Living with a food related disease and raising children in order to prevent any further disease diagnosis' Maree has become an authority in her field.  

She is a chef and loves to simplify the complicated.  She has followed a science based approach to nutrition and reads the latest health discoveries and follows many doctors in the field of nutrition and wellness.

The amount of research now being developed regarding auto-immune diseases and how to eat for health is truly astounding.  If you follow a Paleo approach to food most auto-immune symptoms will reduce if not completely disappear.  

If you are looking at Paleo for the first time or even Auto-Immune Paleo (AIP) don't despair.  It is not as scary as it looks and once you have made the decision to follow the diet, it becomes easier.  Once you start noticing the reduction of symptoms and feeling better, the momentum to maintain this lifestyle will continue.  The main key is to be organised and to plan ahead.  It is quite simply something that you will need to do for the rest of your life if you want to maintain good health, clarity and vitality.

There will always be a family celebration, a birthday party or reason why you cannot maintain the diet.  Plan ahead, follow the 80/20 rule (eat well 80% of the time so that 20% of the time you don't need to) and if you notice the symptoms flare up, just eat well all of the time.

Don't demonise foods, but actually understand why you are restricting certain foods and notice the symptoms when you do eat those foods.
